Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and guidelines for using the Axiom Synapse platform, including our website, newsletters, API, and advertiser tools (collectively, the "Services"). This policy is designed to protect the quality of our Services and the experience of all users.

2. Permitted Use

You may use the Services to:

  • Subscribe to and read newsletters relevant to your professional interests.
  • Access archived issues and guides for research and business intelligence.
  • Share individual newsletter issues with colleagues via forwarding or link sharing.
  • Use our API within published rate limits for authorized integrations.
  • Create and manage advertising campaigns through our advertiser dashboard.
  • Refer others to the platform using our referral tools.

3. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on our platform:

Spam and Abuse

  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits or bans.
  • Using the platform to send unsolicited commercial messages.
  • Submitting fake subscriber signups or generating artificial engagement.
  • Abusing the referral system with fraudulent or self-referrals.

Scraping and Data Extraction

  • Using bots, crawlers, or automated tools to scrape website content outside of normal API access.
  • Systematically downloading or archiving newsletter content for redistribution.
  • Extracting subscriber data or other non-public information.
  • Reverse-engineering our AI content generation or curation systems.

Unauthorized Access

  • Attempting to access other users' accounts, data, or private information.
  • Probing, scanning, or testing vulnerabilities without written authorization.
  • Circumventing security measures, rate limits, or access controls.
  • Sharing or transferring API keys or account credentials to unauthorized parties.

Harmful Content

  • Distributing malware, viruses, or other harmful code through any platform feature.
  • Uploading or transmitting content that is illegal, defamatory, or fraudulent.
  • Using the platform to harass, threaten, or intimidate others.

4. API Usage Rules

  • Respect published rate limits. Current limits are documented in our API documentation.
  • Include proper authentication headers in all API requests.
  • Do not cache API responses for longer than the specified TTL.
  • Attribute content to Axiom Synapse when displaying our data in third-party applications.
  • Do not use API access to build services that directly compete with Axiom Synapse.
  • Report any API bugs or security vulnerabilities responsibly.

5. Advertiser Content Standards

Advertisers using our platform must adhere to the following standards:

  • Advertisements must be truthful, non-deceptive, and comply with applicable laws.
  • Landing pages must match the claims made in the ad content.
  • No ads for illegal products, services, or activities.
  • No misleading claims about financial returns, health outcomes, or guarantees.
  • Ads must be clearly distinguishable from editorial newsletter content.
  • We reserve the right to reject or remove any advertisement that violates these standards.

6. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in the following actions, at our sole discretion:

  • Warning: For first-time or minor violations, we may issue a warning with instructions to cease the behavior.
  • Temporary suspension: Repeated or moderate violations may result in temporary suspension of account access.
  • Permanent termination: Severe or repeated violations will result in permanent account termination without refund.
  • Legal action: We reserve the right to pursue legal remedies for violations that cause damage to our platform, users, or business.

7. Reporting Abuse

If you encounter behavior that violates this policy, please report it to abuse@axiomsynapse.com. Include as much detail as possible, including screenshots or URLs where applicable. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
